Today I am participating in the LAWN FAWNATICS CHALLENGE 68 – SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW.
I have to tell you I absolutely LOVE the new yeti stamps. Goodness!!! Then the magic picture changer dies this year have me making all kinds of cute cards! For my old contributions I have my trusty Stitched Hillside Borders and the Birch Trees dies. The sled and snowballs are from Toboggan Together, embossed snow background is from Snow Cool and the banner is from Fancy Wavy Banners.
I just loved the idea of having the yeti jump out from behind the trees!
Products used:
Copics
Distress Oxide Ink - blueprint sketch, picked raspberry, and seedless preserves with mini blending tool
Techniques or tips and tricks:
Magic Picture Changer cards work best flat for the 1st and 2nd scene pieces. Use masking to make it awesome without layers of paper!
For the 2nd scene, position the Yeti stamp, but don't stamp it. Stamp the hat and present first. Then mask them off, and then stamp the Yeti... THEN haha mask the Yeti, hat, present off and blend on the distress oxide inks. Use the embossing powder pouch to prepare to emboss, then stamp the snow and emboss in white.
Do the same blending and embossing on the 1st scene and add on border, make sure to go all the way up on the tab for when you pull it out too, and blend on the card background.
Mount the hills and birch trees right up to the edge of the picture changer window and be careful not to glue on it since you'll stop the movement
I globbed a bunch of stickles glitter on the snowballs and snow cone and left them to dry for a looooooong time to get a thick glittery look without having to stamp on glitter paper.
Thanks Nancy! Glad you like it!
Oh my goodness, this card is just so much fun! I love how the yeti pops out from the tree; super fun design! Thank you for sharing with us at Lawn Fawnatics!
