Happy release week!
I'm super excited to share this awesome set Sherwood! Takes me back!
For my first card I used the swirly stencil and distress ink to fade in the design for the background. Love the extra effect inking up the edges afterwards does for the card!
For the second card I made a quick paper stencil using the tree scene craft die and distress oxides to make a forest background and spritzed with water and splattered with kuretake gems and pearls water color paints. The sentiment actually said "I Sherwood..." But I wanted it to be a group card with "we" so I added the little details to the "I" to make it an "E" and then copied the "W" with a fine liner pen.
I love the look of a reward poster so I had to try one out for this Handsome Fox!
REWARD is created with the Stitched Alpha dies. I freehanded a cut poster, roughed the edges with old scissors and ink blended with distress ink for some fun dimension. I added brads for a "nailed" effect.
Speaking of making your own stencils... I used my cutter to cut out several different sizes of circles to create this hypnotizing card for my silly serpent. I used distress oxides for a fun pop of color.
I had some fun circle shaker bits in my stash so I decided to make it a shaker! Ever made an infinity shaker? So easy! I also find it's less likely for me to leak bits all over the place haha. I use a cellophane baggie (the same ones I use to protect A2 cards), pull it right around the panel and adhere with good double sided tape. I fill it up and seal the packet shut! Viola!
Then I adhered the panel to the card base with more double sided tape. You can also make the panel a little smaller for a border look and pop it up on some foam for a different look.
Ok here's the final card! I know these wiper interactive cards are all the range right now but did you know that the design has been around for YEARS? And you can easily make it yourself? It's literally two identical panels, scored twice on one end and glued together on the ends, then the pop up is just a strip of paper with a fold at an angle and inserted into the scored edges on one side of the card. I used the tree scene craft die again and the build a castle dies.
Mine is a portrait A2. Two pieces cut at 5-3/4" x 5-1/2" and each scored along the long side at 1" and 1-3/4". The pop up piece is a 3/4" wide strip. Here's a video I used to make my card! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZpouL4jqSs I just used a thinner strip (3/4" in wide and trimmed one of the panels to have the popup further down the page to leave room for the castle to show.
I love how the lover's "babysitter" (lady in waiting) is popping out of the foliage to save her charge's honor haha. "No ding ding without a wedding ring! Nooooooo! Before you do it, you must go through it! Or else I blew it." haha
I hope you enjoy the rest of the release!
